  • What are the terms and conditions for my Motor Vehicle Insurance?

    In order to check your insurance coverage and to obtain further information, please consult the General Terms and Conditions of insurance, which you would have received by email with your policy.

  • Does my insurance cover me while my car/motorcycle is being shipped?

    If your policy has been started as per September 15th, 2022, or later, the international transport of your insured vehicle between locations in the insured area (according to your International Insurance Card) and overseas territories including the USA is co-insured. The insurance cover is subsidiary, other existing covers take precedence over this cover. An excess of USD 250 is deemed to have been agreed.

    If your policy has been started before September 15th, 2022, your insurance only covers your vehicle while it is registered in Germany. As soon as you ship your vehicle, this insurance is void.   • Who is allowed to drive my vehicle?

    If you have registered your POV with USAREUR, any person who has a valid USAREUR driver’s license is allowed to drive your vehicle with your permission. If you have registered your POV in the German system, any person who has a valid international driver’s license is allowed to drive your vehicle with your permission.

    Please note that all drivers must be 18 years or older.

  • Do I need to put my spouse on the policy?

    Your spouse does not need to be listed on your policy as long as she/he has a valid USAREUR driver’s license. If you are registering with BFG or German Registry, you will need a valid international driver’s license. Please be aware that the insurance rate is calculated according to the age of the youngest driver.

  • I need proof of insurance to be sent to my Financing Company (lien holder). Where can I get this?

  • What should I do if I deploy and my vehicle goes into military storage/temporary withdrawal?

    If you deploy and your vehicle goes into government storage/temporary withdrawal, you must provide us with a copy of your storage form/temporary withdrawal form. With this form, we will be able to suspend your policy for up to one year. However, please be aware NOT ALL Financing Companies (lien holders) will allow to suspend your policy while your car is in storage/temporary withdrawal. We recommend you to check that out.

  • What should I do if I want to put my vehicle / motorcycle into private storage?

    If you want to put your vehicle / motorcycle into private storage you must provide us with pictures of the vehicle being stored in a lockable garage. The license plates have to be turned in and the non-operational slip from vehicle registration has to be provided. In case your vehicle is financed, we also require written “permission to store” from the lien holder (including an official letter head). Once we receive these documents, MIRASCON Insurance Solutions can provide comprehensive loss coverage free of charge for up to 18 months.

  • How do I renew my insurance?

    If your policy has been started before November 19th, 2018, it will be automatically renewed every January 1st for the upcoming year.

    If your policy has been started as per November 19th, 2018, or later, it will be automatically renewed on the policy start date of the following year.

  • How can I cancel my policy?

    If your policy has been started before November 19th, 2018, you must provide us with a signed letter of cancellation before November 30th in order to CANCEL the automatic renewal of your policy on January 1st of the upcoming year.

    If your policy has been started as per November 19th, 2018, or later, you must provide us with a signed letter of cancellation 30 days prior to the renewal date of your policy in order to CANCEL the automatic renewal of your policy on the effective renewal date.

    You can also scan and email the cancellation letter to cnx@mirascon.com.

    If you have shipped, deregistered, sold, or junked your POV, please send a copy of the shipping documents (shipping instruction summary) together with the de-registration form AE 190-1S, or just a copy of the USAREUR de-registration form AE 190-1S, if your vehicle has been sold or junked, to cnx@mirascon.com to cancel your policy accordingly.   • Who is my point of contact?

  • Why are you still debiting my account even though I have cancelled my policy?

    You have to send your de-registration form/certificate, shipping papers or your junking papers to contact@mirascon.de or by fax to: +49 (221) 92548866. Once we have received this information, we will cancel your contract as of the respective Date. Please, prove or send us your actual address, your email and your (German) bank details. Thus we can refund any overpayment. Additionally, please contact your bank and cancel your Recurring Payment Order/ Standing Payment Order to the insurance company (Volkswohl-Bund).
